The award winning Hughenden (circa 1870) is a gracious historic hotel at the gateway to the antiques and art galleries of Woollahra, in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. A 4 star heritage Victorian Manor House only minutes to Sydneys city centre.
Associated with Australia's first philosopher, The Hughenden experienced many changes from grand residence to Masonic Hall to Ladies College. In 1993, The Hughenden commenced a programme of extensive restoration, redeveloping it into a beautiful boutique hotel.
Today, The Hughenden, known as Sydney's premier Art and Literary Hotel, features marble fireplaces, the original grand staircase, Victorian dining rooms, art exhibitions and literary events.
Offering a bed and breakfast style of accommodation, The Hughenden welcomes you to experience the warmth, charm and personal service offered by the friendly staff.
Influenced by traditional sporting events and home to the Australian Children's Authors & Illustrators, you will need more than one night to explore the passageways and corridors filled with authentic antiques, original artworks and engaging history.

Cancellation Policy

The Hughenden Boutique Hotel's Cancellation Policy

You may cancel your booking at anytime before 5pm, 2 days prior to arrival.
If you cancel your booking after the specified period, or if you fail to show up, The Hughenden Boutique Hotel will charge you one night's accommodation for each room that you have booked and your deposit will not be refunded.

Not1Night’s Policy of Cancellations and Changes

Not1Night will charge an administration fee of $10.00 AUD for online cancellations and $15.00 AUD for cancellations or changes made by phone or email.

Deposits Policy

To secure your booking, we require a 10% deposit of the total accommodation cost. This will be deducted from your credit card at the time of the booking.

Location

From the airport it is best to catch a taxi - the street address is 14 Queen Street, Woollahra. The cross street is Oxford Street.
If driving, take the expressway to the city.
Turn Right at Cleveland Street, all the way until Lang Road meets Oxford Street.
Just go through the intersection & we are on the left.

From Central railway, catch the 378 bus from central to Queen Street.
We are located just around the corner on the left.

By car from the North Shore - take the Eastern Distributer & turn at the Bondi Exits.
The Queen Street exit is the 3rd set of traffic lights on the left.
Come through the intersection slowly as we are just 50m on the left.

Hotel Reception is open 24hours a day.

If you are going to arrive particularly early or late, please ensure you call the number on your Booking Confirmation well prior to arrival so that we can arrange our Night Porter to check you in.

There is a night bell located on our verandah to assist.

Upon check-in, a payment on your credit card will be pre-authorized for the full cost of your stay PLUS $100 for incidentals.

If you are staying for a period of more than 7 nights, we will pre-authorize a payment on your credit card for the cost of the first 7 nights, and then each 7 night period after that.

If you do not hold a valid credit card, you will be required to pay for the full cost of your stay at check-in PLUS a $100 cash deposit for incidentals

We have a limited number of car-spaces available at the hotel.
It is recommend to reserve a space by calling the number on your Booking Confirmation.

There is plenty of off-street parking available, at no charge, but on restricted time limits.
Parking in the Hughenden Carpark is at your own risk.
