St Helens 7216 TAS
The Bayside Inn, St Helens is a self rated 3 star budget hotel located on the edge of magnificent George's Bay within a short walking distance to centre of St Helens.
St Helens, nestled in the corner of the picturesque Georges Bay, is the largest town on the north-east coast and business centre of the Break O’Day municipality. The town is known as Tasmania’s premier, coastal tourist township and the game fishing capital of Tasmania. Each March the St Helens Game Fishing Classic is the highlight of the year for locals and an increasing number of interstate visitors. Once known as Kunnara Kunna meaning "easy walking place", the area was home to many Aboriginal bands and has a rich history of Aboriginal heritage and cultural occupation. Ten minutes out of St Helens lies Binalong Bay and the Bay of Fires, one of Tasmania’s most beautiful and popular beach getaways. The Bay of Fires extends to Eddystone Point and has white sandy beaches and giant granite boulders, popular also with divers because of its kelp forests and underwater caves.
St Helens is a fishing port sheltered by Georges Bay and St Helens Point, a long headland, 1,066 hectares (2,500 acres) of which is reserved as a public conservation area. The other side of the bay - Humbug Point - is also protected.
The Bayside Inn offers quality budget accommodation to suit everyone. The complex has 54 hotel style guest accommodation rooms ranging from ground floor hotel rooms with bay views to poolside rooms surrounding a heated swimming pool and courtyard. There are also 27 upstairs hotel rooms (15 with bay views and 12 with town views). All guest accommodation rooms are spacious, comfortable and non smoking, beautifully furnished with an open plan design with electric heating, comfortable bedding, a modern private ensuite bathroom with shower and bath, toilet, hairdryer and bathroom amenities, Flat screen TV, direct dialling phone with voicemail, writing desk with lamp and chair, microwave, kettle, tea and coffee making facilities, fridge - bar size, alarm clock and ironing equipment.
The Bayside Inn, St Helens provides a total entertainment package with a new gaming room comprising 30 Keno and Tote machines. The Bay Bar and Bistro serves breakfast daily from 7.30am (summer months). Soak up the fantastic uninterrupted views of tranquil Georges Bay. Room service is also available. Lunch and dinner is available 7 days a week with a extensive menu. With succulent steaks and local seafood, including Tasmania's popular crayfish, the menu is sure to satisfy everyone's taste buds. The Bayside Inn also has an excellent wine list and a well stocked bar with a wide range of liqueurs, spirits, beers, non-alcoholic drinks and coffee. The Bayside Inn also boasts an extensive bottle shop. Further guest facilities and services include an indoor heated swimming pool, delightful courtyard, direct access to the foreshore park with picnic tables and chairs, direct beach access, opposite a fantastic children's playground, guest laundry, a bar / lounge, daily housekeeping, cot hire and FREE onsite carparking with most ground floor rooms having adjacent car parking. The Bayside Inn, St Helen further boasts conference/meeting facilities with views overlooking the magnificent Georges Bay.
