At the top of York Street [Windmill Hill] directly opposite the magnificent new Olympic size swim complex with fabulous views across the Tamar River and City. The list of things to see and do is endless! Aurora Football Stadium, Cataract Gorge and Chairlift, Old Seaport Marina and Boardwalk (Restaurants and the Tamar River Cruises), beautiful State Forests, Grindewald Swiss Village, Launceston Racecourse, the picturesque Tamar Valley, Dr. Harry's Veterinary Farm, the renowned Tamar Wine Route, great Wineries, the Launceston Basketball and Tennis Sporting Complex, City Park monkey enclosure, the Australian Maritime College, Universities, Museums, Design Centre, Car Museum, great weekend markets, Inveresk Art Gallery, world standard Golf courses, Tasmanian Devil wildlife parks and the Launceston Casino are all very close. Seahorse World, Platypus House at Beauty Point and the Beaconsfield Grubb Shaft Museum are only an easy 35 minute drive.
