In the heart of Western Australia's Shark Bay is a place where you can experience the mystical world of wild dolphins.
Monkey Mia is one of the world's premier natural dolphin sighting areas; a destination of magical encounters.
A recognised natural beauty, World Heritage Landmark and most recently the Gold Winner of the 2006 Western Australian Tourism 'Major Tourist Attraction' Award, Monkey Mia and its accompanying Dolphin Resort is a popular attraction for visitors from around the world.
The Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort offers 3.5 star accommodation, located at Dolphin Beach in the heart of the Shark Bay World Heritage Region of Western Australia, famous for its kilometres of secluded crystal blue waters and pristine white-shell beaches, Monkey Mia has attracted schools of dolphins to its tranquil shores daily for more than forty years - one of the most reliable meeting places for dolphins in the world ( dolphins have visited everyday in the last five years excluding only four days). It is the only place in Australia where dolphins visit daily, not seasonally, and costs absolutely nothing.
With flawless blue skies and sunshine 320 days of the year, Monkey Mia is the ideal untouched Mediterranean-style holiday region of the Southern Hemisphere - fantastic for a leisurely getaway, romantic escape or outback adventure.
Enjoy getting up close and personal with the dolphins directly in front of the Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort - only a handful of steps from your beach front accommodation. Enjoy a close encounter of a most remarkable kind. So friendly are the native dolphins, they swim to the shore to meet you in the ankle deep waters of Dolphin Beach during morning feedings and interaction.
The management and staff work hard to maintain a relaxed atmosphere, where those with a love of nature will delight at the huge variety of mammal and bird life, native flora and fauna, such as the Dugong.
Over 10,000 of these sea dwelling mammals live in the protection of the Shark Bay Marine Nature Reserve.
Romantics will find hundreds of miles of deserted beaches to explore.
Featuring absolute beachfront accommodation in the heart of Shark Bay World Heritage Area, the Resort includes accommodation options for all travellers with a variety of rooms from backpackers, shared facilities to beachside King/Twin motel units and luxury Garden Villas. Rooms are fresh and air-conditioned, with a modern design and range of features for optimum comfort.
