The Lodge at Tarraleah was originally built in the 1930's in an Art Deco style to house the cream of Tasmania's pioneering hydro electricity officers and management. The guest book featured the powerful and famous and if you have the time to listen, has hosted more than its share of the risquï¿½! Comprehensively refurbished in 2006, the Lodge retains the original 1930's craftsmanship and now incorporates contemporary Tasmanian design and the latest in modern communication.
The Luxury Lodge Rooms have been sympathetically built within the outer building shell and now incorporate the very finest of small luxury hotel living, including internet, flat screen TV, DVDs and even a high fidelity connection for your ipod.

WALK? Take a guide or just a map for twenty minutes or two days and discover the Tasmanian wilderness. Easy to challenging walks are just outside the Lodge - our waterfall walk is a special delight.
A ROUND OF GOLF? Eight minutes walk to one of the highest courses in Australia. First developed over sixty years ago, this beautiful course has fairways lined with mature gums. Very pretty yet challenging. High altitude golfing on nine beautiful holes.
TROUT? Some of the worlds' finest trout await you in lakes, rivers and streams. Discover a new skill or be challenged by some of the finest water you will ever fish. Use our in house guides who number some of the best in Australia or just get pointed in the right direction. All equipment can be provided and there is a fully stocked Loomis tackle shop on site.
