In the 70's many hippies, local and international artists created the Arts Factory! In the 80's it was an internationally recognized rock and roll venue. The birthplace of much of the fame and spirit of Byron Bay, it still maintains that original spirit today.
The Arts Factory Byron Bay Backpackers Lodge offers a wide range of Groovy Accommodation or Funky Abodes, ranging from Teepees, Mixed Dorms, and private rooms.
Funky Workshops include Didgeridoo Making and Yoga. Join in a game of table tennis, basketball, volleyball or go on a guided bush tucker walk tour. Jump in the heated pool or Spa/ Jacuzzi, hang out in hip Byron Bay or relax on the spectacular beaches only ten minutes walk away. In the evening enjoy DJ's, bands, the Zany Talent Show and fire twirling performances.
Guests can prepare their own meals in the Arts Factory Lodge's communal kitchen, which has plenty of storage for cold and dry foods, or enjoy the on site Buddha Bar Restaurant which offers a beer garden and live musical entertainment. The communal games room as equipped with pool tables, board games, internet terminals, plenty of seating with a view onto the swimming pool and the courtyard, music playing and a cosy log fire, so there are no excuses to be cold in winter, not that it ever really gets that cold in Byron Bay. The games room is adjacent to the Surf Cafe and the Juice Bar in case you get the munchies. There is a FREE shuttle bus into town, Broadband internet, volleyball court, basketball, travel desk and guest laundry. As an efforts in achieving an Eco-certification the hostel has its very own Eco garden where guests can volunteer in exchange for the seasonal vegetables that are ready for harvest!!
