Don’t let the name fool you, the Snowy Mountains are not just a winter holiday destination. For a ski adventure, you can't go past the Snowy Mountain. Pack your skis and weave your way down the steep slopes of the mountainside. Beginners, intermediates and experts will all find something to challenge and excite them. If you have never gone skiing before, never mind because there are plenty of instructors to learn from. Or if skiing really isn't your thing, have a crack at snowboarding, or even tobogganing. Alternatively, if you want a cheaper stay with a bit more of a lively atmosphere, the backpacker hostels are a great budget accommodation choice. Just because summer time roles around, that is no reason to avoid Snowy Mountains. The fresh mountain air and breathtaking views from atop the mountain is just one of the reasons. You can also take a bike or horse tour through the area and go bushwalking through Kosciuszko National Park. Use the great hotel and motel accommodation in the area as a base and travel to nearby towns such as Jindabyne or Cooma, to experience life in country New South Wales. Atop the mountain, there are also some great places to go fishing. Sit back, relax and soak in some fresh air while you see what fish you can catch.
