Situated in a historic building constructed in 1892 in Woolloomooloo, The Elephant Backpacker Hostel overlooks the beautiful Domain Park, close to Hyde Park, the Botanical Gardens and the red light district of infamous Kings Cross. The Woolloomooloo Elephant Backpackers is just 15 minutes walk from shopping at Pitt Street Mall, 10 minutes bus ride from the Sydney Opera House and 15 minutes bus ride from Bondi Beach.
catering for backpackers, schools, sporting groups or holidaymakers seeking clean and comfortable budget accommodation in a great location, The Sydney Elephant Backpacker Hostel offers 220 beds over three accommodation floors ranging from double and twin private rooms to 4, 6 and 8 bed mixed and female share dorm rooms. All rooms offer a fan, secure lockers and reading lights. Bed linen, blankets, a pillow and a locker are provided FREE OF CHARGE. Shared bathroom facilities are located on each floor. All rooms are very spacious as the hostel was originally built in 1892 as a hotel so each room is large compared to many modern built hostels. Some rooms still have the original fire place and mantel in the room.
The hostel offers secure card access. The ground floor houses the modern communal kitchen and dining room for those guests that wish to cook, or if not, you can eat in the onsite cafe/bar and pizzeria that serve lovely and reasonably priced food. The bar offers an outdoor patio and serves a selection of beer and wine; while the cafe is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The Sydney Elephant Backpacker Hostel features weekly events including movie nights, trivia competitions and local bar tours.
