Terrigal is a beach haven, less than a 1.5 hour drive North of Sydney. Terrigal is known for its fantastic surfing beaches. Backpackers will love the range of affordable budget hotels and hostels available to enjoy the Terrigal beaches at low prices. If you don’t surf, then never mind, there are plenty of other things to do along the beach! Waterskiing, boating, fishing and even snorkelling and scuba diving are all popular activities in the waters of Terrigal. The beach is lined with modern cafés and restaurants so there is no shortage of scrumptious eating choices to satisfy everyone’s pallet. Once you have had a swim at Terrigal beach, why not try some of the other beaches in the area including Woy Woy and Ettalong Beach which are only 30 minutes away if you fancy a change of scenery.
Away from the beach, Wyrrabalong National Park is a must visit. The birdlife, the greenery of the native trees and picturesque views are spectacular. After visiting the park, head to The Entrance to explore Lake Tuggerah, or head slightly further north to Lake Macquarie, Australia’s biggest salt water Lake. Ensure you return to Terrigal though, as Terrigal offers a great range of accommodation for all travellers. The local parks provide fantastic opportunities for picnics and barbeque lunches, while Terrigal Lagoon is always fun to visit and Terrigal Lake is a fantastic area for the young kids to meet the local birdlife.
